HOW I DID ON MY 2009 GOALS

I was thinking about what I want to accomplish this year and thought that I needed to look at my last year’s goals:

1.  Increase the amount that I run. I didn’t keep a log of how much I ran this year, but I ran a lot more than I did in 2008 and was much more active with Kyaking, hiking, etc.  My body has healed as much as it is going to after the roof fall a couple of years ago, but I am stubborn and will work through the pain as much as possible.

2.  Take more time out for family. Didn’t meet this goal, my previous job was such that I had to bring lots of work home at night just to keep up and since returning to teaching, I have felt behind the eight ball.  I also have enjoyed re-connecting with the edtech world and this is has had an effect on when I get off the computer.

3.  Get more done around the house. Sort of met, before returning to teaching, I just didn’t have time to accomplish nearly as much as I wanted to and when I got home I was mentally wiped most days, but still got somethings done.

4.  Health. Didn’t get the colonoscopy done and but I did go on a Statin for my cholesterol and it was under control.  By changing jobs, I have reduced the stress in my life by a considerable level and have started to feel much more relaxed and healthy.

5.  Work. Success – I returned to teaching and stopped worrying about taking over the finance portion of my previous job.

6.  Blogging. Success – Created a new blog that focuses on Special Education and Teaching.

Overall, this was a very good year and I am looking forward to 2009.
