Harold,
Can I ask you a teaching question?
These are the REQUIREMENTS for an
Educational Technician II – 60 credits of approved study — **Conversion of credits to approved study: 1 semester hours = 1 credit of approved study;
1.5 CEUs = 1 credit of approved study; and, 15 clock hours = 1 credit of approved study.
Does this mean that if I track all of my hours as a substitute teacher, Ed Tech I, Job Shadowing, etc. — then every 15 hours of actually working with students counts as 1 credit of approved study?
Does this mean I can actually make it up to Ed Tech II without further college study? Or will I need to supplement some sort of college study to continue as an Ed Tech?
Any Help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. The criteria seems a tad vague to me.
Thanks Again,
–Louise

Louise – I really hate to say one way or another on Certification questions…I would hate to give you bad advice or information. The rules have changed a great deal over the past 3 years and I am just getting current again.
The best thing would be to talk with Maine DOE and get the correct info the first time.

Louise – Keep working at it, I would love to see you in the classroom, you are a natural with the students.
